21 Day Bring on the Beach Program
If you’re looking for a short program to help you burn fat, increase lean muscle, definition and energy then you’ve found it with this plan!
With the Bring on the Beach plan you work each body part twice a week – the first time will be focused on multi-joint, compound exercises and the second time will be focused on single-joint isolation exercises as much as possible. The key to this program is called cardio acceleration. The combination of resistance training and repeated bursts of HIIT cardio will help you build lean defined muscle and burn more fat.
The program combines High Intensity cardio (which includes both high and low impact options) and resistance training into one workout.
This is a 3-week (21 days) intense program. When you complete the 3 weeks you can repeat the program for another 3 weeks, however, I suggest after 6 weeks you give your body a break and switch up your workouts. Always give your body variety when it comes to workouts. You never want to do the same routine all the time for months on end! Keep it fresh!
Your body will love and respond to the changes in your routine and so will you!
Sports Nutrition for Young Athletes
For young athletes in middle school and high school throughout most of the U.S. the major emphasis is on physical training in the gym, sports specific drills and scrimmage games during off-season practice, off-season showcase tournaments, and performance on the field in the games themselves during the in-season.
The missing link to maximize performance at all times is nutrition. Kids will be kids and I am not suggesting they stick to a very disciplined dietary program and deny themselves of the culinary delights of being young! That being said, teaching them about the benefits of choosing food wisely before, during and after their workouts, practices, tournaments, and games can be a ‘game-changer’ even for very skilled athletes.
I felt so strongly about this that I started writing chapters on different topics of nutrition for the Somers, CT high school boys lacrosse team as I was training them in the off season when they were in middle school. Every week I took 5 minutes at the beginning of our speed, agility, and quickness sessions to talk about the nutrition topic of the week. I provided hard copies of the chapters too, which ended up on refrigerators and bulletin boards in their homes for future reference throughout the year. The culmination of those chapters is here in this book.
I wrote the chapters as if speaking to the kids themselves – keeping the content on a very basic level that could be understood by all. I now share this content with you and your young athletes. I wish them every success in life – on the field and off!
Isagenix Nutrition with Erika DeJesus
My Isagenix Success Story is one of many shared by people who have experienced incredible results using Isagenix Systems.
I used to drink 4-5 cups of black coffee and a large Rockstar energy drink every single day to keep my energy high for my full time job, being a mom and all of my training as well. I’ve also tried just about every brand and type of protein shakes and protein bars you can imagine. My stomach was always upset and I didn’t sleep well at all.
In 2013 I took a year long course through the Institue for Integrative Nutrition in holistic health coaching and nutrition. It was then that I began to research not only the ingredients in the shakes and protein bars I was eating, but the quality of the ingredients and their source as well.
In that same year one of my posing coaches introduced me to this line of products and I’ve been using them ever since. What an amazing difference in how my stomach feels, my energy levels, my immune system and even the quality of my sleep! I noticed it in just a few days after starting to use the products too.
The quality of the protein in the meal replacement shakes is one of the highest you can get and it comes from grass-fed cows in New Zealand. The shakes are even ‘Cheerful Cow’ certified, which I love!
Since then, Isagenix has introduced many other products to support any health goals you have: healthy aging, performance, fat loss, they even have great products for kids.
All products are free of artificial colors, flavors and sweeters and the whey protein shakes have no growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics. They also have a plant based line of protein shakes as well.
I don’t endorse products easily, but this company is one I trust with my own health and those I care about. Soo…what are you waiting for?
